Travelling is always an exciting prospect, and when you have a specific location in mind, you can spend a lot of time in the planning stages thinking of all the sights that you’re going to see. However, when you’re in this more exciting stage, it’s easy to forget about the moments of downtime that you’re going to encounter between these experiences – and that’s to say nothing of the initial travel itself.

However, this can all be made up for by simply incorporating this into your planning stage. Thanks to your phone, it shouldn’t take a whole lot of packing space for you to come into this trip prepared either. You just have to be aware of what you should expect.
Travelling to Canada
Depending on where you’re currently situated, the journey to Canada could be a long one. If that’s the case, your first hurdle is going to be how you decide to spend the time on the journey over. You have a wealth of options, and as mentioned earlier, many of them could be accessed entirely through your phone. If the way that you would ideally spend this time is through something like reading, bringing a book is certainly an option, but if you’re planning on being away for a while – taking multiple books could take up space. While you might prefer the benefits to your optical health that might come with choosing a book over your phone, your phone might be more flexible due to the presence of reading apps.
Throughout the Day
Your smartphone can also help you to kill downtime that comes throughout the holiday, and this might be the downtime that you find harder to evade because it’s a bit more unpredictable. However, your phone has access to a myriad of games that you can download through an app store or classics such as blackjack and roulette that you can access through a live casino – though always remember to practice safety and caution when gambling to ensure that the hobby remains enjoyable.
However, one of the perks of being on holiday in a new location is that you can spend this downtime by simply exploring the local area – something that your phone can also help you with thanks to the presence of map features.
Travelling Between Locations
Canada is a big country, and there’s a lot to see throughout its entire landmass. Therefore, you might not only be looking at having to kill downtime while getting to Canada in the first place but also the time that you spend travelling from each location within Canada. Reading or games could also be a good way to spend time here too but taking a train or a bus through an unfamiliar country is a great opportunity to take in the sights. This pastime might be something that you can best enjoy while listening to music or a podcast, which is another way of giving yourself a break from screens.
